This past weekend in Greenville, SC, a fan jumped the rail and almost entered the ring during a Chris Jericho promo prior to his match against Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. According to fan reports, Jericho was cutting a promo on the crowd and the riled up fan jumped the guard rail, and was almost in the ring before security was able to grab him and pull him out. Jericho played it off by asking security to let the fan back into the ring so he could give him a beating, and then said he hoped that the police press full charges on the fan. In an update to the story, Jericho has posted the following on his Twitter account: "A fan hit the ring during my promo before my match in Greenville. Things didn’t turn out well for him."
