WWE RAW Opener: Freddie Prinze Jr., Santino, Randy Orton

Lilian Garcia opens the show introducing tonight’s guest host, Freddie Prinze Jr. Prinze puts over that he’s a legitimate fan, talking about his old WWE action figures and ice cream bars. Out comes Santino in a fisherman’s outfit with a hook. He mocks "I Know What You Did Last Summer". He takes some of that gear off and puts on a wig and glasses and mocks "She’s All That". Then he says he knows Prinze is on "24" and he does his impression of that. Prinze gets Santino out of there and said he’s got one more piece of business to attend to. He said in the main event tonight he’s got a match so sick. As he continues to build it up, Randy Orton’s theme hits to cut him off. Orton gets in the ring and tells Prinze he has to team with his SummerSlam opponent tonight. He says he doesn’t feel like it. Prinze says he might not want to but this is St. Louis and this is Orton’s hometown – and he doesn’t want to work?! Prinze says he’s not going to disappoint all these people. Orton says he doesn’t care about pleasing anyone in the crowd. Orton says he’s not going to ask Prinze again. "You suck" chant breaks out from the crowd. Orton says he better take him out of the match. Prinze says he respects Orton and says "but do I look like Seth Green? Do I look like Jeremy Piven?" He says for Orton not to try and intimidate him. He says the match is still on. Orton grabs Prinze in a headlock and drags him around the ring. Orton drops down while holding Prinze’s throat, leaving him laying. Medics attend to Prinze as we fade to commercial.

U.S. Title:

-Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Carlito

The champion, Kingston, is out first. We get a video replay of the mixed-tag match on Superstars with Carlito & Rosa Mendes vs. Kofi Kingston & Mickie James. Carlito makes his way to the ring and this U.S. title match is officially underway. Carlito, who has Rosa in his corner, is dominating the action early on. Carlito throws Kingston out of the ring as we go to a mid-match commercial. We return from commercial and Carlito is still in control, with Kingston in a rear-chin lock. We see some replays of Carlito hitting some high spots on Kingston during the break. Lawler and Cole update everyone on Freddie Prinze Jr., saying he’s been taken to a near-by hospital. Kingston making his comeback now. Kingston hits the double-leg drop on Carlito and tries a pin but only gets two. Big cross-body from Kingston and another pin attempt, again only getting a two-count. Kingston with another cross-body, Carlito rolls through though. He pins Kingston but only gets two. Kingston goes for the Trouble In Paradise but Carlito avoids it and hits a neckbreaker. Carlito goes for the Backstabber but Kingston reverses and hits his Trouble In Paradise kick for the pinfall and the victory.

Winner and STILL U.S. Champion: Kofi Kingston
