Top Five Reasons To Watch WWE SummerSlam Tonight

NUMBER FIVE: Jim Ross Teases Surprises

Jim Ross posted the following in his recent blog: "It would seem to me that Summerslam ‘might’ have more than it’s share of surprises this Sunday on PPV. Many young talents who have been doing well lately (Morison, Harts, Kofi, etc) are not officially on the card. Could that mean that some will make surprise cameos or even larger roles?"

Jim Ross is very internet-friendly and rather than taking the Matt Hardy approach of using blogs and tweets to try and swerve the "reporters" online, Ross is typically straight-forward and rather honest with his writings.  He knows what and what not to say, but if he says it, he normally believes it to be true in his eyes.John Morrison

I respect that.

Now, in regard to the possibility of younger talents playing a larger role in the pay per view, I could definitely see Morrison and Kofi doing something (at least somewhat) significant this weekend to boost their appeal on their respective brands.  Lord knows (and apparently so does Chris Jericho) Raw could use some young talent to step up into the spotlight.

However, Smackdown also needs Morrison to up his game with Jeff Hardy leaving WWE next week.  And yes, regardless of what Matt says, Jeff is unfortunately (or fortunately if you’re not a fan) saying his goodbyes as we speak. He is supposed to work Smackdown tapings though.

Definitely check out SummerSlam to this weekend to see what Jim Ross was referring to, because it’s something to get pretty excited about looking toward the future.
