Irish People Love Sheamus, Infamous Title Reign Won’t Die

Mark O’Donnell from Ireland send along the following: Just emailing regarding some media mentions of WWE in the UK and Ireland this week, in particular Sheamus. On channel 4 in the UK on Monday they showed the movie “The Escapist.” In one of the prison scenes, Sheamus appears and his character is paid to fight another character. Also an Irish radio station on Monday talked about why Irish people get so excited when they see other Irish people on American television. The conversation started when the presenter got excited by Sheamus’ appearance at WrestleMania 26. Just thought I’d pass those notes along.

Piv sent along the following: In the April 5, 2010 issue of US Weekly, there is a section called “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me”. This week’s celebrity to do it was David Arquette. Sure enough, the following is included in the article:

“I was the WCW heavyweight champion of the world for two weeks. Google it.”

Goes to show that even 10 years later, the industry’s most infamous world title reign will never truly stop being infamous.
