WWE Extreme Rules Opener: HHH Attacked

The show opens and Triple H’s music hits. HHH doesn’t come out. We shoot backstage and see Sheamus beating down "The Game."

The Miz & Big Show & Teddy Long In The Arena

The Miz and Big Show come out. Michael Cole says none of their titles are on the line tonight. Miz gets on the mic and says Bret Hart will in fact live up to his stipulation at RAW tomorrow night. Teddy Long comes out and announces Miz & Big Show will face three seperate tag-teams in a gauntlet match.

The Miz & Big Show vs. John Morrison & R-Truth

This is a non-title match. It’s just getting started now, hang tight. Not a long match at all. Finish came when Big Show went to chokeslam Morrison, Morrison slapped on a triangle choke but was hanging over the top rope during the hold. The ref counted to 5, he didn’t break the hold, so he was DQ’d.

Winners via DQ: The Miz & Big Show

The Miz & Big Show vs. Mark Henry & MVP

This was even shorter. Maybe a minute long. MVP hit his finisher on Miz but Big Show hit the knockout punch from behind.

Winners: The Miz & Big Show

The Miz & Big Show vs. The Hart Dynasty (w/ Bret Hart)

Bret Hart leads out team number three, and it’s the Hart Dynasty. They get the win in 12 seconds. Hart Dynasty knocks Big Show to the floor and hit their finisher on Miz for an insanely quick pin. With the win, the team earns a title shot against Miz & Big Show on RAW.

Winners: The Hart Dynasty

Backstage: Todd Grisham w/ Sheamus

Backstage, Todd Grisham is with Sheamus. He basically says Hunter is hurt from his attack, but he still hopes he fights him tonight. If he doesn’t though, Sheamus wins either way.

CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio

Pretty lengthy match. Finish came when a new member of the Straight Edge Society rolled out from under the ring and distracted the ref. He beat down Mysterio during the distraction, setting Punk up for the GTS on Mysterio for the pin.

Winner: CM Punk

Strap Match:

-JTG vs. Shad Gaspard

Short match. Finish came when Shad dragged JTG to all four corners, but JTG touched them as well.

Winner: JTG

Backstage: Todd Grisham w/ HHH Injury Update

Backstage, Todd Grisham has an update on the Triple H situation. He said the head trainer told him HHH suffered a neck injury and that it’s highly doubtful he’ll be able to compete tonight against Sheamus.

World Title:

(Extreme Rules)

-Jack Swagger (c) vs. Randy Orton

Pretty good match. Went about 15 minutes. The finish came when Orton set up for an RKO on the chair. Swagger reversed the attempt and ended up hitting Orton with his Gut-Wrench Powerbomb finisher on the chair instead.

Winner and STILL World Champion: Jack Swagger

After The Match: Orton RKOs Swagger, Orton-Sheamus Staredown

After the match, Orton hit the RKO on Swagger outside the ring. Orton walks up the ramp, but Sheamus’ music hits. Out comes Sheamus with his steel pipe. Orton and Sheamus stared each other down and walked on.

In-Ring Segment: Sheamus Promo, HHH Will Wrestle!

Sheamus cut a promo and reminded everone that he told us it would be a bad night for Triple H if he showed up at Extreme Rules, and he was right. We flash to Todd Grisham backstage. HHH bull-rushes through a door, selling the injury big, as he walks to the ring.

Street-Fight:

-Triple H vs. Sheamus

About a 15 minute match here too. Good match too. The finish was a simple one, as Sheamus just repeatedly hit his kick to the head finisher on HHH. 2-3 kicks and he pinned him clean. After the match, Sheamus left, came back and kicked HHH again. They sold the HHH injury huge post-match.

Winner: Sheamus

Backstage: Josh Mathews Interviews Edge

WWE Women’s Championship:

(Extreme Makeover Match)

-Michelle McCool (c) vs. Beth Phoenix

About five minutes here. As far as match quality: exactly what you would expect in a circus like this. Finish came when Beth hit her finisher on McCool for the pinfall. We have a new champion.

Winner and NEW Women’s Champion: Beth Phoenix

Backstage: Josh Mathews Interviews Chris Jericho

Jericho says losing to Heath Slater doesn’t make him less of a big money player in WWE. Jericho guarantees to end Edge’s career forever.

Cage Match:

-Edge vs. Chris Jericho

Great match. Went about 20 minutes. Finish came when Jericho was crawling to exit the cage door. He stood up to leave, turned around for a second, and it was one second too long as Edge hit him with a spear and pinned him for the victory.

Winner: Edge

WWE Championship:

(Last Man Standing Match)

-John Cena (c) vs. Batista

Pretty damn good match from these two again. Went a bit over 20 minutes. Finish came when Cena crotched Batista on the ring post. He then proceeded to duct tape Batista’s legs to the post. The referee started his count because Batista wasn’t standing, and Cena did the "You Can’t See Me" gesture right as he counted ten.

Winner and STILL WWE Champion: John Cena
