TNA Impact Results 5/20: Top 10 Rankings, Angle Returns!

TNA Impact Results for May 20, 2010

By Bill Pritchard for WrestleZone.com

Impact Opener:

Eric Bischoff comes out with Miss Tessmacher, and he is holding some papers and looks happy. Bischoff addresses the Top 10 Rankings for the World Heavyweight Title. He says the criteria involved fan vote, win/loss record and title history in career, and TNA win/loss record and titles won. He says number 10 is Samoa Joe, and Joe makes his way out to the stage followed by a quick video highlight. Next is Rob Terry at 9, and the rest of the list follows the same format of announced/comes onstage/video. Desmond Wolfe is 8, Pope is 7, Abyss is 6 (and is getting booed, hint hint TNA), and number 5 is Mr. Anderson. Jeff Hardy is in at number 4, AJ Styles is 3, Kurt Angle is number 2, and the number 1 contender is… we’ll have to wait because Angle’s music plays and he never comes out. The guys on stage and Bischoff look confused, and don’t know why he isn’t coming out. Bischoff moves on and the number 1 contender, who will get the title shot at Slammiversary, is Sting!

Sting makes his way to the ring with the bat, and Bischoff looks uncomfortable. Bischoff is trying to congratulate Sting and the fans are chanting "we want a recount". Bischoff tells Sting he will be a fighting contender and he will face Jeff Hardy tonight. Sting flips out and says everyone wanted change, and smashes the signs in the ring with his bat. He tells Bischoff he should change the way he walks, and takes out Bischoff’s legs with the bat. The other Top 10 members go check on Bischoff while Jeff Hardy gets in the ring to stop Sting. He takes away the bat and faces off with Sting, and Sting low blows him. He picks up the bat but RVD interrupts him, and Hardy gets back up and gives Sting a death drop. He goes up top to try a Swanton, but Sting runs out of the ring before Hardy can jump.

Bischoff is in the back with Hogan and Ms. Tessmacher and says to get a trainer. Matt Morgan comes in and mocks Bischoff in pain, and says we want their rematch. Hogan says he can have it, but good luck finding a partner.
