5/22 WLW Results with Harley Race and Trevor Murdoch

Thanks to Cody Drennen for sending in the following:

I went to a local wrestling show, WLW, World Leauge Wrestling owned by Harley Race in Desloge, Missouri. It was a fund raiser for a local police officer who lost his wife due to cancer and he also haves seven kids.

There was a bluegrass country band playing when we go there, and during intermission. Harley was signing autographs only if you give a donation.

I’ll say there was about 150 to 200 people there.

I just want to say that they had really really bad sound system and it was hard hearing the names so I probably will miss some.

The first match was Superstar Steve against someone who I didn’t catch his name. The dude came out crazy right by me and screamd "Caution, I’m Crazy". The crazy guy won with roll up.

The next match was with Superstar Steve’s partner, Mark Sterling taking on someone else I didn’t catch the name of. Mark gets DQ when Superstar Steve came in the ring and they started double teaming him. The crazy guy that won the first match came out to even the sides.

They then made it into a tag team match for the WLW World Tag Team Championships with Mark Sterling and Superstar Steve defending against the two guys I dont know there names. This was a good match, probably about 20 minutes long. Mark Sterling and Superstar Steve won the match with a Superkick/German Suplex combo. After the match, Sterling got into it with a guy in the crowd which was funny to watch.

Intermission

Next up was Jack Gamble taking on someone else I didn’t catch the name of. Jack was really over, the second loudest pop of the night. Jack won with a roll up.

Next up was Richie Steamboat(Ricky’s Steamboat’s son) taking on Chris ???. Richie Steamboat won. The Chris guy really impressed me and seems like a natural at it. A fan took his shirt and blew his nose on it and it was great seeing his reaction.

Next they had another intermission, this time they raffled off some stuff. They raffled off a John Cena T-Shirt, a Kurt Angle TNA T-Shirt, and a signed photo of Rey Mysterio. Two of them went to the kids that the fundraiser was for. The Angle shirt went to a grandma who was booing and cheering all night. Was glad to see her win.

They announced that they will return to the area, in Farmington, Missouri(about 10 minutes away) in July.

After that, they bought Amy Henning(Curt Henning’s daughter) out and said that she couldn’t defend her WLW Women’s Title tonight because the person she was going to face couldn’t make it due to airplane troubles but she promises she will wrestle in Farmington.

In the main event, Trevor Murdock defend the WLW World Heavyweight Championship against ???(had Breaker on his tights) and Trent Stone in a Triple Threat Match. This was the match of the night and Stone and the other guy done a lot of double team moves. Trevor Murdoch wins with, yes, another roll up. There was also a special guest ref, a heavyset guy which I never heard of him.

After the match, the ring announcer announced that at the Farmington show in July it will be a rematch, Trevor Murdock vs Trent Stone vs the other guy only this time it will be a special match. The announcer said that it will be either a Ladder Match, a Strap Match, or a No DQ Match and that Trevor will decide.

Trevor Murdock says that he is the true champion and a real man unlike them. He says he dont care what kind of match it will be but he will be there and will win. Trevor didn’t announce what match type he chooses though.

All in all it was a good show, I had third row tickets and for 15 bucks it was worth it.
