Thought I would give you guys a report from the WWE Raw Live House Show tonight.
Show began at 7:30 p.m. as scheduled.
R-Truth defeated the Miz and John Morrison in a triple threat match for the United States Championship. Miz let Morrison and Truth battle it out early on. He stood outside and even sat in the crowd some times. After a while though, he was back in the fold and the three duked it out until the end. Truth hit the “Lie Detector” on Miz for the pin.
Before ring announcer Tiffany could announce the next match, Edge came out and interrupted her. He took the mic and said he was going to do what he wanted, when he wanted. He said the NXT Rookies should be glad they didn’t run into him because RAW wouldn’t have ended the same this past Monday. He talked about winning the WWE Championship at Fatal Four Way, but was interrupted by Evan Bourne. The two went at it, but Edge missed a Spear attempt, and Bourne gained the advantage. The segment ended soon, which I thought would set up an Edge-Bourne match.
The Great Khali defeated William Regal. Really short match, but totally what I expected for a Khali-type match. Khali really seemed to like the cheers, especially when the crowd called for the "Khali Chop".
The Bella Twins asked a WWE fan a question and if they knew it, they were selected as the special bell ringer for the next match. The question was “Can you name two of the four wrestlers who are in the WWE Championship match at Fatal Four Way ?” to which the fan said “John Cena and Sheamus”. The fan chosen was very young (8 or 9 is my best guess).
Dos Caras defeated Goldust. Caras, who looks like either a Ricky Ricardo lookalike or Little Guido on steroids, came to the ring and spoke in Spanish to rile the crowd up. Lots of “ USA ” chants during this match.
Yoshi Tatsu defeated Zack Ryder. Good quality match, but maybe a little short. All-in-all, it was very technically sound.
Mark Henry defeated Ted DiBiase with the “World’s Strongest Slam”. DiBiase had some good mic work before his match and talked about he was without Virgil and not having him forced him to do normal things like change his socks and drive his own car. He said he wanted to find a replacement for Virgil and that he would make some lucky fan in the building an offer the couldn’t refuse to be his Virgil for one night. Henry came out to the offer. There was a lot of nine counts by the ref, as DiBiase sold not wanting to wrestle Henry.
A 15-minute intermission took place and the show was back on at 9 p.m. on the dot.

Vladimir Koslov defeated Santino Marella in a rematch from their dance contest on Raw. Afterwards, Marella went to shake Koslov’s hand only to be pelted to the ground. Koslov laughed walking away from the area. Marella got ring announce Savannah to do a little jig.
Eve Torres defeated Maryse. This was a slow match that involved too much nonsense. The two tried to out do each other, as Maryse did the hair flip, while Eve Torres did the most god awful shake I’ve ever seen. The girl needs to learn how to dance. Many “boring” chants during this match.
Savannah announced that the main event was up next.
John Cena and Evan Bourne defeated Sheamus and Edge in the main event tag match, as Bourne hit “Air Bourne” on Sheamus and Cena hit the “Attitude Adjustment” on Edge. The match was originally supposed to be a singles match between Cena and Sheamus for the WWE Championship. However, after the two exchanged words on the mic before the match, Cena beat down Sheamus and put him in the STF. However, Edge came in and there was a short two-on-one before Bourne came out. Cena asked the referee to make it a tag team match and it was on from there. A lot of beat down by Edge and Sheamus on Bourne. It seemed to work with the younger kids, but many “smart marks” were pro-Edge in the crowd. Good match though and great finish.
Notes: The bulding was about 70% capacity, with a lot of upper deck seating available. The floor seats looked to be sold out and high risers as well. A small section of front row seats (about four) were saved for the Miz to sit down in. There were a lot of people who showed up early, as they had an event outside of the Civic Center where people could buy merchandise.
WWE is now selling autographs at their shows. They had an opportunity to buy a “John Morrison: Rock Star” signed DVD for $15 or a John Cena signed picture for $20. The merchandisers selling them told us that the autographs were done the day of the show.
Apparently WWE doesn’t like fat people because the only 2xl shirt available was the John Cena shirt. In all others, the largest was an extra large. Fans also had the opportunity to buy “collector cups” that are only sold at live events. Those were $6 for a cup with a drink of your choice in them.
A lot of people left after the intermission. Guess they thought the night was over. Real interesting.
The card announced before the show was varied. One radio ad I heard said John Cena vs. Sheamus, while a television ad said John Cena and Randy Orton vs. Edge and Sheamus. Randy Orton was no where in sight.
Biggest pops of the night went to Cena (by far), John Morrison, and R-Truth (especially for the “what’s ups”). Biggest heat of the night was a tied between the Miz and Sheamus. Edge and Evan Bourne had a mixed reaction with some cheers and boos. A lot of people didn’t know who Dos Caras was.
Show was done at 10 p.m.
