Why JR Was Pulled From WWE Intro, Bellas/Guest Host Future

It’s being reported that Jim Ross was removed from WWE’s opening TV video package as a punishment for appearing on camera at the UFC 116 event. As we reported on the site, Ross did an interview with Ariel Helwani at UFC 116, which showed video footage of Ross in attendance at the event along with Bill Goldberg, Steve Austin and Paul Heyman. However, since Ross is the only of those guys currently under contract with WWE, he was the one that WWE went after, and has subsequently replaced his voice in the intro with that of Michael Cole.

It’s being said that after last night’s Raw show, which featured Florence Henderson as the guest host, it appears as if the guest host concept might be on its last legs. One source noted that this might be bad news for The Bella Twins, as they are generally only used on Raw as "arm pieces" for the guest hosts. As seen in recent weeks, The Bellas have been relegated to appearances on Superstars, and it is unclear what their future on Raw will hold. It should be noted that although the Raw guest host concept has NOT been scrapped, WWE has no guest hosts booked for future shows at this time.
