EXCLUSIVE: Is The New Wilpon Group In The Hunt for Jericho?

WrestleZone can now exclusively report that the new group being put together by Milton Wilpon is very interested in having talks with Chris Jericho should Jericho’s contract expire with World Wrestling Entertainment. "They are looking for some brand name stars," a source working with the group told us, "and they wanted to talk to Jericho’s management and make an offer."

The group has been marred in controversy for the past few weeks, with stories everywhere about Florida independent wrestler Sean "Davis" Pascoe involved in getting the Wilpons to the table for a major investment in pro wrestling, and the report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer that Paul Heyman was approached about his willingness to run the company, which seems unlikely since the group has no television network yet, and even TNA (which is well funded and has Spike TV as a network) has had trouble getting Heyman to consider returning to pro wrestling.

In other news, WrestleZone has confirmed several other veterans in addition to the ones we mentioned in an earlier report have been contacted about a "wrestler’s board," similar to the Players Associations in MLB and NFL.
