WWE Smackdown Results for 9/10/10:

The show starts with a loud gong and Undertaker is in the ring.  He sounds very weak, but vows to take care of his brother Kane at Night of Champions.  CM Punk comes out and wants the crowd to give the Undertaker a standing ovation for all of the great moments he has brought us.  Punk then tells us to cherish this moment as soon the Undertaker will be no more.  Punk claims that for the first time he can hear fear in the words of the Undertaker and Punk will beat him later tonight.  Undertaker lets Punk know that he will rest in peace.  Good promo work by both men, especially CM Punk.

Jack Swagger beat MVP clean with the ankle lock.  I was cheering for Swagger as we both attended the same college and were in the athletic facilities together.  Swagger kicks MVP into the steel steps then slams MVP’s ankle into the ring post for the submission.

A LayCool skit is played backstage with Kaval in the background.  They argue that only one of them has the opportunity to pin Melina at Night of Champions until Kaval tells them to shut up because he has his first match on Smackdown to prepare for.

Alberto Del Rio beat Matt Hardy clean with his submission move. Nothing much to the match, but Del Rio’s announcer got some good heat.  After the match Christian runs down to help Hardy to the back.

Drew McIntyre beat Kaval clean with his futureshock double arm DDT.  Kaval was impressive he took a sick bump off of the top rope and into the barricade which Mcintyre used to gain the upper hand.

Kofi Kingston and Christ Masters beat Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero when Kingston hit the Trouble in Paradise on Ziggler.  Short match.

The Undertaker beats CM Punk by making him tap out to the anaconda vise.  Undertaker was moving pretty slow in the ring, but Punk made the match entertaining.  Undertaker hit a chokeslam, but Punk kicked out then Punk hit the GTS on Undertaker but took too long for the pin and Undertaker slapped on the submission and Punk tapped out.

After the match Undertaker dropped to one knee to celebrate the victory when Kane’s music played instead and fire engulfed the stage when Kane’s maniacal laughter playing over the speakers to end the show.

Dark match

Undertaker and Kane went to a double count out.  They fought on the outside for most of it then Kane threw Undertaker back into the ring to chokeslam him, but Undertaker countered with a chokeslam of his own.  Kane retreated up the ramp when Undertaker went for the tombstone.  Undertaker celebrated in the ring for several minutes to send the fans home happy.
