New Idea to Help WWE PPV Buys, More on CM Punk to Raw

Nick Paglino

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that in light of the current and steady decline in WWE PPV buys, the company has been discussing the idea of running live pre-game shows before PPV’s like they used to do in the past. Sunday Night Heat generally served as the live pre-game show which would feature final build for the PPV and sometimes offer a bonus match. The hope is that a live pre-game show will generate some late buys for PPVs.

WWE Smackdown star CM Punk worked last week’s Raw house show event in Anaheim, CA, and is locally being advertised for tonight’s Raw show. Although it has not been officially announced that CM Punk is heading to the Raw brand, and things can always change, his participation in Raw events combined with Edge’s recent move to Smackdown is a strong indication that Punk might continue to appear on Raw.
