WWE House Show Results (12/28): Wilkes Barre, Pa.

7. John Morrison defeated King Sheamus. By far the best match of the night Sheamus took to the mic before the match and told everyone he is the king and we all should bow down, etc. etc. He generated great heat and got everyone going!

The match was solid with lots of back and forth action. At one point, Morrison went for Starship Pain, and Sheamus blocked it. Morrison rolled outside where Sheamus pulled out a kendo stick from under the ring and started beating the hell out of Morrison with it.

Eventually, Morrison got the stick and beat down Sheamus, who then got a chair and took that to Morrison. Like I wrote, a solid back and forth match and the crowd was hot from open to close. Sheamus went for the High Cross on Morrison, and there was a chair set up by The King in the middle of the ring. Morrison escaped the High Cross and kicked Sheamus, who fell on the chair, and Morrison hit him with the knee to the head for the pin.

Intermission and the announcement that the main event was next. Then the cage music hit as they set it up.

8. John Cena defeated Wade Barrett via crossface in the cage match main event. Cena got the absolute loudest pop of the night hands down. There was not one Cena sucks chant to be heard! Before the match, the GM sent a message stating if any member of nexus interfered, Barret would be suspended.

The match its self was pretty damn boring to be honest, but a lot of solid spots with Barret trying to escape and Cena blocking him on top of the cage. After awhile, Barret hit Cena with Wasteland, and Cena kicked out followed by Cena going for the Attitude Adjustment, which Wade blocked and tried to escape yet again, causing Cena to catch Barrett on top of the cage.

Cena came down with him in a bulldog. After that move, Cena wasn’t the same. Barret kicked Cena and went to escape and spent about three minutes with one leg over the cage (which happened right in front of me). Even though he did a damn good job selling being beatdown, after awhile you could tell something was off. Finally, Cena slowly hobbled up and climbed the turnbuckles and only made it to the second rope. He began throwing weak punches on Barrett. As clear as day, I heard Barrett say to Cena, “I got this.” Barrett flipped off the cage and Cena basically fell on him and applied the Crossface for about ten seconds before Barrett tapped.
