CM Punk comes out to the ring, and he is laughing as he sarcastically thanks the fans, and says he loves being in Phoenix. He says he has been searching around for John Cena, but he can’t see him, because Cena isn’t there tonight and it’s because of him. Punk says he kept his promise and he delivered, and he is a leader, so that is probably why Nexus begged him to be their new leader. Punk mocks the fans for chanting for Cena, and says "Hustle, Loyalty, Respect" is just a catchphrase to Cena, but Punk expects him out of himself and out of Nexus.
Nexus’ music hits and Wade Barrett makes his way out and tells Punk that he is the reason Cena is out, not Punk. He says he is the leader, but Punk says they need him, and Barrett calls him a liar. Punk says they should settle this right now, and they ask the rest of Nexus to come out and help them with this.
Otunga is first to speak and he says they both make good points. Before he can continue, the GM sends an email and it says before things get out of hand, there will be three men in the steel cage #1 contender’s match tonight. It will be between Wade Barrett or CM Punk, against Sheamus and Randy Orton. Barrett says as leader of Nexus he will get the spot in the match, and Punk says he can have the spot, but he wants to talk it out instead of beating him for it. Punk says if Barrett wins, he earned it, but if he loses, he is out of Nexus and Punk is the leader. Punk asks for it to be a gentleman’s bet, and Wade agrees then they shake on it as the cameras show the cage above the ring.
Alberto Del Rio is making a special appearance tonight, and he says his destiny is to becomes the World Heavyweight Champion and his name will live on in the hearts of everyone. He says his destiny is to win the Royal Rumble and main event Wrestlemania, then says the fans have no destiny. R-Truth interrupts him and asks Phoenix "What’s Up". He says Alberto’s only destiny is to go back where he came from, and he is the man who will send him there. Truth slaps him in the face and Alberto backs off as the ref rings the bell.
