Hills star gets VH1 solo show

US cable network VH1 is giving Audrina Patridge, star of MTV’s The Hills, her own show, produced by Mark Burnett Productions.

Patridge shot to fame in LA-based The Hills, which straddled the line between reality and scripted. Her new reality show, Audrina, follows her career and love life and introduces her “large, outrageous Orange County family,” according to Viacom-owned VH1.

Patridge produces, along with her manager Dave Fleming and Michael Bloom, while Burnett executive produces. It will premiere in April for a run of unspecified length.

Three other new VH1 shows debut on March 21. Endemol-created reality series Ton of Cash sees 14 hard-up contestants hauling US$1m from LA to Las Vegas to win the money, while eight-part docu-soap Love & Hip-Hop follows four women connected to the US rap scene.

Bischoff/Hervey Entertainment-produced Beverly Hills Fabulous, meanwhile, follows the tribulations of The Elgin Charles Salon, an African-American beauty salon.

Joining them in April will be Wedding Wars, a reality series in which 12 couples battle it out to win a dream wedding; and Saddle Ranch, produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, which follows the young staff of Hollywood’s Saddle Ranch Chop House restaurant.

Finally, VH1 Tough Love Miami, from High Noon Entertainment, will debut in the summer. The show sees matchmaker Steve Ward giving 10 stereotypical women, including a hopeless romantic and a ‘gold digger,’ a “dating 101.”
