MTV Story On Paramore Visiting Raw As CM Punk’s Guests

The following is an article from MTV.com:

Paramore Members Visit ‘WWE Raw’

With “Paramore: The Last Word” behind them and the promise of new music on the horizon, the remaining three members of Paramore — singer Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis — went on a group outing. The trio made their way to the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee (a venue Williams has visited in the past as a fan of the NHL’s Nashville Predators) for Monday night’s (January 10) live broadcast of WWE’s signature show “Raw.”

According to Williams’ Twitter feed, the band were guests of wrestler (and friend of the MTV Newsroom Blog) CM Punk (who took a photo with Williams that he then posted to his own Twitter). The group caught an excellent show, as they were treated to a lot of build-up for the upcoming Royal Rumble show as well as excellent matches and promo work from the likes of Punk, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Daniel Bryan and John Morrison. However, the biggest headline of the night was the announcement that Shawn Michaels would be the first star inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Michaels, who has been retired since he lost to the Undertaker at last year’s WrestleMania show, came out for his first live appearance on WWE television in almost a year. He got an incredible reaction, though his promo was interrupted by Del Rio (who took a kick to the chops for his trouble).

Williams, who seems to be a fan of all fight-related entertainment (she is also a follower of UFC and will often tweet about big fights), summed up her evening out with her bandmates thusly: “Had an amazing night at RAW with everybody!” she tweeted. “Thanks to @cmpunk for hooking us up and putting on a great show!! Too much fun. So tired now!”
