Maria Speaks On Going To TNA, WWE Release, DivaMania

The following are highlights from a recent interview with former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis:

Maria on wanting to do more inside the ring: Definitely, it was so hard always being girl that got beat up but never got to win. I beat Michelle, I beat Melina, Mickie, Beth. I beat all these girls but never got the opportunity to get the title. That was hard because I could beat them, but I could never beat them for the title. Being there for that long and watching other people get the opportunity to get the title. I’m not stupid, I know I wasn’t the greatest in the ring, and I never looked the toughest in the ring but to hold the championship for one day or for half a show would have been awesome.

Maria on her storyline with Dolph Ziggler: Me and Dolph always had a great relationship outside of the wrestling world, we still do. We still talk to this day. It was supposed to be a storyline where I switched to the dark side and I wanted that sooo bad. I didn’t want to be stupid evil, I didn’t want to be funny evil, I wanted to be EVIL and I never got to do it. Me and Dolph were supposed to have a huge blowout and then I was supposed to switch over. We were going to be like Bonnie and Clyde and not care what we were doing to anyone else and just have fun doing it.

Maria on upcoming DivaMania tour: We’re going to visit different bars, clubs, and do signings and hang with fans. It’s going to be the three of us(Jillian and Tiffany) back on the road. It’s going to be more of a relaxed atmosphere, not so structured. We’re just going to go out there and have a good time. We’ll go to a club and host a party and go up with the DJ and play songs. Maybe we can get Jillian to get up there and sing, and Tiffany loves to dance. If you’ve ever seen a club that is hosted by one of the Kardashian sisters or Rihanna, that’s what it’s going to be.

Maria on if she’s spoken to WWE or TNA since her release: Well, Vince texted me “Merry Christmas” so that was nice. I’ve talked to some of the people in talent relations and just been like “hey how ya doing?” TNA, I’ve never really talked to and I don’t know where that rumor came from. I think it’s just something people think is going to happen, if you leave one company you’re going to go to the other.
