Ring of Honor News: “Final Battle 2010” Rematch Signed

Just a few days ago Roderick Strong proudly, arrogantly, bragged about his position as ROH World Champion. He carried himself with a level of cockiness that was unbecoming of an honorable champion, and certainly not one who had retained the belt in the fashion he had in his most recent title defenses (Generico & Homicide). For Roderick and the HoT, the ends justified the means…as long as Strong remained champion, it did not matter how he went about keeping the belt.

Now Strong is in territory that has been foreign since September 2010 when he captured the belt at “Glory by Honor IX”. Now Roderick finds himself once again in the role of championship hopeful, in the role of pursuer rather than pursued, and if his actions following his loss to Eddie Edwards at “Manhattan Mayhem IV” are any indication (see the next ROH Video Wire), it is not a role he is very happy with.

Another man is also in that role of title challenger, but unlike Strong, this man is happy to be on the hunt. This man is happy to bide his time for a title opportunity, use those hours to train and perfect his craft. This man is someone with whom Roderick Strong is intensely familiar with, this man is Davey Richards.

And now, when “Honor Takes Center Stage” on Friday night, April 1st, their paths will collide once more! In a rematch of their epic “Final Battle 2010” showdown, Davey Richards & Roderick Strong will go one-on-one in Atlanta, GA! Strong wants his World Title rematch, Richards continues to use his time to hone his skill in anticipation of a title match, and both men will potentially take another step closer to their goals at Center Stage.

“Roderick’s off base, he’s lost his center.” said Davey Richards, “I know what that’s like Roddy, and I know how much it takes to try and find it once again. Unfortunately for you, Atlanta is not going to be the place where you find it again. I am not going to be the man you use to find it again. At Final Battle you were the better man; you smartly took advantage of my concussion, my ruptured ear drum, and kept the title. Honestly I may have done the same if the opportunity presented itself. This time though, this time I will not allow myself to end up in that situation again. This time you will not find a way to beat me. This time Roddy, this time you will be a victim of my hunt.”

Strong vs. Richards, April 1st, “Honor Takes Center Stage”! Tickets are sold out, but you don’t have to miss out because it is available LIVE on iPPV: http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Wrestling/Honor_Takes_Center_Stage_Both_Shows/968.
