Alpha-1 Wrestling Cancels All Scheduled 2020 Events, Promotion Won’t Take Any Unnecessary Risks

Alpha-1 Wrestling announced they’ve canceled their remaining 2020 schedule including this Sunday’s event, citing not wanting to take any “unnecessary risks” during the pandemic.

Alpha-1 posted the following statement, canceling Sunday’s “Ruckus” event in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, as well as making the decision to not run any more events in 2020.

THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED

If you purchased tickets to this event, you can be refunded via 905-621-8256

Text or call. ASAP.

We’re sorry to get people excited.

We can’t take any unnecessary risks during these extremely unique times.

No more A1 events will be held in 2020. Sorry.

It’s worth noting that WrestleZone has learned Alpha-1’s decision is related to an issue on a local level, and not directly linked to the recent positive COVID-19 tests linked to GCW’s The Collective weekend.

Alpha-1’s move is the latest in a number of changes for the wrestling world this week, as St. Louis Anarchy canceled their October 16 event after they learned a performer that was at The Collective had tested positive for COVID-19. Since then, at least three known participants (Dan The Dad, AC Mack, Cabana Man Dan) have confirmed publicly that they tested positive for COVID-19. Ring Of Honor also pulled talent who were at The Collective from its current set of television tapings in Baltimore as a precaution.
