NJPW Going After Popular GIF Makers On Twitter

A lot of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s best matches have grown in popularity due to social media, but that might not happen in the future. The company is now going after popular pro wrestling GIF makers on Twitter. Both @MrLARIATO and @BulletClubItal received copyright reports due to posting GIFs of the latest Power Struggle event. In fact, the latter user was even suspended from Twitter due to it.

The claim is coming directly from New Japan Pro-Wrestling and isn’t from a third-party. Considering how many of their more explosive moments managed to go viral on wrestling Twitter, it seems like a short-sighted move by the company. It is, however, completely their right as the copyright holder, though. UFC has had a similarly aggressive approach with online GIF makers.
