Isenberg Reacts: WrestleMania 33 “Delightful Deletion and The Deadman’s Demise”

WrestleMania 33 was historic for so many reasons. Starting off, it was such a deep and stacked card, with every match having an intrigue to it. Being live is always an experience, even if some lights were distracting to see the ring from where we were sitting. Starting off the night was Smackdown Live’s strongest feud, as AJ Styles and Shane McMahon did battle.

Shane vs. Styles

Talk about an opening match, with both men putting everything they have in the ring to start the night. Shane showed some great technical wrestling ability, combined with some great spots. When Shane connected with an elbow through the table, it really got the crowd going. The excitement of a move like that early in the night helps set the table for events later. A missed shooting star press set AJ Styles up for the finish. Styles and Shane proved two things; that Styles can bring out a great match in anyone and that the opening match is just as important as the final match. Lastly, I do think that Shane could have a few more matches in him. Doesn’t this do more RIGHT now than AJ Styles being in a match with someone like Bray Wyatt or Randy Orton?

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
