Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “Big Names With No Direction”

AJ Styles Delivers

smackdown

AJ Styles makes his debut on Smackdown in a pretty good match against Curtis Axel. He was able to fight off the Social Outcast members and  focus back to Axel. Hitting a Pele Kick from the ropes and then a running elbow was all he really needed to set up the Styles Clash. He hits that, rolls through and picked up the win.

Curtis Axel was a good opponent for him tonight. Axel is known to be a very good wrestler with a background in working with new or returning guys in the company. Styles was able to add a few more pieces of offense to his arsenal tonight, most notably his finisher. It was smooth, really fun to watch and Styles continues to impress. He is just too good in the ring. It was not spectacular, but just enough to showcase his abilities to a new crowd.

Kalisto Impresses on Smackdown

smackdown

Kalisto defended his United States Championship against Neville in a really entertaining match. The fast paced transitions, the moves and the skill set each man has really made this a treat for fans who either love Cruiserweight type matches or even X-Division bouts. With Kalisto, he has gotten just enough mic time to get himself over that way, but he will always be important because of what he does in the ring.

I enjoyed the ending when Neville went for a deadlift german suplex only to br reversed and then a boot to Kalisto. He was able to counter another move, smoothly, and hit Salida Del Sol. Just watching how smooth it was and how efficient in a short window makes fans appreciate both men’s skills.
