John Cena Gets His Match

wwe raw Rusev took quick care of Axelmania on WWE Raw in Pittsburgh. After the match, John Cena attacks the Bulgarian Brute. He locks in the STF and Rusev looks to be passing out. This prompts Lana to offer Cena a match, then a match at WrestleMania. Finally, Lana says the United States Championship will be on the line. He lets go of Rusev and looks at Lana with a great look of satisfaction.

We all knew this was going to happen, but I was unsure as to how WWE would go about doing this. John Cena overpowered a man who has made a living doing just that. John Cena vs. Rusev has gotten really intriguing.

I like how he did not let go until the title was on the line. It gives the fans a dose of what WWE really needs to do and that is make the championship more important and another building block for this exciting feud. They have really redeemed themselves this week compared to the previous two. The US Title means something now.

The Land of Tag Team Confusion

Raw featured a horrible gimmick picking up a surprise win over the champions. The New Day, out of nowhere, pick up a victory on the champions and it was not really impressive at all. After this, Naomi and Natalya get going with a match and Naomi picks up the win. Cesaro, Kidd and his wife all lose tonight and seem to be off of their own path.

Jimmy and Jey Uso suffer a loss to Los Matadores on Raw. Once again, another surprising victory for a tag team that has done NOTHING over the past year. Hell, they have not been involved in much since WrestleMania last year.

Nonetheless, I think this all sets up for some sort of Tag Team Turmoil to kick off the WrestleMania night. Expect something like a Fatal Four Way or Turmoil match to take place on the pre-show. Do I like this? No.

Wouldn’t you rather have two tag teams, with their respected women, be involved in a match instead of watering down the feud and adding too many pieces? Why does WWE need to feel that EVERY WRESTLER gets a WrestleMania match? It should be earned, not thrown in for the hell of it. Instead of really good matches and action, everything seemed thrown at a wall and seeing what stuck.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
