New Champions in Chicago

rohIt seems as if Chicago has been one busy little wrasslin' city this week, hot off the heels of a memorable Monday Night Raw, and culminating in last night's "Raising the Bar Night #2" event put on by Ring of Honor. During the later, the Young Bucks defeated ReDRagon – Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish – to become the new ROH Tag Team Champions

If you are keeping track at home, the Young Bucks now hold tag team gold in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and New Japan Pro Wrestling; or as I like to call them, the three most consistently entertaining wrestling companies in the world today. Despite Ring of Honor's television title and a marginally different roster being the only tangible distinction between ROH and PWG, the later continues to keep itself incredible fun and fresh; at first glance they make look similar, but they are world's apart.

I'm incredibly supportive of the Young Bucks' slow take-over of the pro wrestling world. With this first-time reign in Ring of Honor, they have now found gold in every major company that isn't TNA or WWE. I believe their present count is six titles concurrently. At 28 and 24-years-old, it would seem their time in the business is closer to its origin than its conclusion. Good news for anybody who still believes in competition outside the WWE bubble.
