The Main Event

Kurt Angle defeated Austin Aries in a Submission Match in the TNA World Championship Tournament.

What can you say about these two guys when inside of the ring? It was an AWESOME match to end a rather dull and lackluster Impact Wrestling. The action, the pacing, and the energy was full throughout. Bobby Roode made his way out to the stage to watch, which grabbed the attention of Kurt Angle. Aries uses the distraction to go for an axe handle smash off the top turnbuckles, but Kurt catches him before he lands and drops him with a belly-to-belly suplex on the floor. After Aries gets the upper hand with a dropkick and some other moves, Angle has to fight back inside the ring with German Suplexes. Aries countered an Angle Slam with a simple arm drag, followed by a top rope axe smash. Finally, we get to the ending parts of the match. Aries hits a suicide dive and rolls Angle back into the ring. He would connect with a missle dropkick and an IED before setting up for a Brainbuster. Angle rolls out of a submission hold and moves out of the way of a 450 splash. Angle finally locks in Roode's submission hold and makes Aries tap out.

Wow, what a great match that ended in controlled chaos. Angle and Roode stare each other down. Ironically, the ending was when Ken Anderson hit a Piledriver onto Garrett Bischoff. It was a little random, but I really liked how TNA tried to make more than one story the main event. There is nothing wrong with that and was a positive note to build to next week.
