Time Is Ticking For WWE & Bray Wyatt

We've learned this past weekend Bray Wyatt suffered some type of lower body injury at a WWE live event. This now poses and interesting situation for WWE and how they book Wyatt.

Every Monday and Friday I write a wrestling column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Today, I address the reality of the situation with Wyatt injured. The following is an excerpt:

Much of the intrigue Bray Wyatt carries is the substance of the character which comes out in his promos. If he is injured, he could kill weeks of time by sitting in his rocking chair cutting promos as disciples Luke Harper and Eric Rowan handle work in the ring.

This would work, except Wyatt's already been doing that for the past few months.

After taking Kane hostage, the Wyatt Family has been in neutral — winning insignificant matches against Kofi Kingston or Zack Ryder. The verbal portion of their image has been upheld, but overall there hasn't been any reason to see what they do next.

They took Kane hostage. He followed the buzzards. He's been chosen. He's been reborn. All of those statements have been made by Wyatt, but we haven't gotten any payoff.

The only progression has been we learned some of the back story via a creepy video vignette to Wyatt's sister Abigail, which he names his finishing move after. This is normally something we would get once the character first debuted … not filler for a month.
