Title This: WWE Raw Reaction October 7th, 2013

John CenaThe Main Events

It was announced that John Cena will return and fight Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Hell in a Cell. My thoughts in order were:

1. What the hell?

2. Are they messing with us?

3. Is Cena really Superman?

4. This makes sense because his triceps tear will be the key versus the cross armbreaker. It also could bring relevance back to the World Heavyweight Championship. If anyone can make a title important, it is John Cena. I am not sure if I LOVE the idea, but I certainly understand the desperation that WWE has right now in their main event status. There is no room for him right now with Bryan vs. Orton because they invested so much time into it.

Grade: B

– Shawn Michaels was the referee announced for Bryan vs. Orton inside Hell in a Cell. WWE is desperate and this is a brilliant way to boost more intrigue in a storyline that needed an energy boost. There are so many pieces to this story that WWE can capitalize on. A. Michaels trained Bryan B. Michaels and Triple H are best friends. C. Michaels and Orton dislike one another.

Grade: A

– Big Show gets fired to kick off WWE Raw. Stephanie McMahon slaps him multiple times before firing him. I really liked the beginning because I was getting sick of seeing Show cry and whine. The guy needs to be booked like a giant, not a wuss. Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, and Goldust lost to The Shield in the main event. While this match was pretty solid, the most important parts happened after the match. Orton helped the heels get the victory. As Triple H ordered The Shield to attack the faces, The Big Show's music hit. Out comes Show, who fights off The Shield and knocks out Triple H. This was a great ending. Finally, we get something important from Big Show. They finally put together a solid and FRESH ending. I was going to be very upset to see Big Show be beaten up AGAIN. Logic prevails and intelligent writing ends the show.
