WWE SmackdownThe Undercard

Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth in the first match of the night. This should tell you something about the World Heavyweight Champion. WWE does not care about it whatsoever. If you kick off Smackdown time and time again, have matches against weaker opponents, and lack a creative storyline you are not important. Del Rio looked aggressive and had to have the referee step in multiple times to separate him from Truth. Truth hit a few new moves, which helped him try for the upset. He would miss a splash in the corner and get knocked out with a kick to the chin. Del Rio wins in an average match that's time slot tells you everything you need to know. RVD came in and stomped away at Del Rio after the match. At least WWE is giving RVD some revenge on Del Rio. I have been a huge believer in having champion and challenger on the same television screen as much as possible.

Grade: C

The Real Americans defeated Prime Time Players. I liked the physical exchange from Swagger and Titus. Both men connected with big shots to the other. Cesaro gets in thering and swings around Titus for about 20-30 seconds. FYI, that is so hard to do and requires so much strength. Titus is about 260 and Cesaro whipped him around like a child. The move itself doesn't hurt whatsoever but impresses everyone. Young gets the hot tag only to tap out to the Patriot Act. I was happy to see Real Americans pick up a victory. If built properly, which is a HUGE if, they could really be a successful tag team. With their strength, intelligence and mouthpiece in Colter, Real Americans could be relevant and build a weak division. You need more than one team.

Grade: B-

Bray Wyatt defeated Zack Ryder with Sister Abigal. Nothing too much to note here. I do enjoy seeing Wyatt compete because we have only had a small sampling size of him. WWE is slowly using these guys in matches and storylines. I think that is the smart thing to do until the time is right to attack and make a huge impact. Bray Wyatt is extremely athletic for a guy who does not look it. His timing in the ring is also impressive for a guy with so little exposure on the big stage. The match was not excellent, but simple and effective.
