Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler to become the new World Heavyweight Champion

Dolph Ziggler

Reaction: Listen, I am just as upset as most of the fans are. I will get to that in a second. The match itself was exactly what I predicted. Del Rio, the face, was booked as a heel controlling the match for the entire time. Yes, we were able to see Ziggler fight back and hit a few dropkicks, but this was all about trying to get Del Rio over. Alberto hits Ziggler several times in the head and connects with a Backstabber for two, then he calls for the Cross Armbreaker but Dolph counters with a neckbreaker for two. This is where it took a turn for the unexpected. Del Rio worked on Ziggler's concussed head, kicking and making it a large target to attack. We begin to see frustration on Del Rio's face as Ziggler continues to kick out of finishers. He slams Dolph's head to the ground, but Ziggler hits a kick and a Zig Zag. We get another close call untl Del Rio superkicks Ziggler in the head and becomes champion. Alberto Del Rio is NOT championship material. His reaction is second to his announcer, which is alarming. I am not taking away from his ability to wrestle, but Del Rio simply is not connected with the crowd at any point in the night. Why the hell would Ziggler hold the title for a month, not be seen on television, and then lose it at WWE Payback. He deserves so much better. If he is legit hurt, he should've dropped the title and come back in a month or two. I really do not know what the underlying meaning of this loss is. He will get a rematch and potentially grab the title back. Either that or hopefully he is used in a big way. This boggles my mind and is completely frustrating because of the illogical outcome.
