Jack SwaggerJack Swagger/Zeb Colter – One Step Down

There's reportedly concern over the Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter angle, and I can see why. The live crowd was dead silent last night during their pre-match promo, IF you exclude the "Boring!" chants at the end.

I don't necessarily blame Colter and Swagger; they are doing the best they can. Wrestling fans just don't care about politics.

You also have to look at the people involved. Mantel is an incredible talker, but he isn't known by today's fans. Swagger was a nobody for years and now he's the challenger to the World Heavyweight Champion. And speaking of, even Del Rio needs more time to get over as a new babyface and a main eventer again. This feud came out of nowhere, and fans haven't been given time (or a legitimate reason) to care yet.

I hate it for Swagger, as it's known I'm a big supporter of his work, but I'm afraid he's going to be the one that "truly" comes out on the losing end of this. Del Rio will be fine going forward. Colter can be repackaged if necessary and his managerial services can still be valuable. Swagger's momentum (if you can even call it that) will be cut short, yet again, and he'll likely be pushed back down the card.

I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but I doubt it. Swagger and Colter will need a quick shift in "purpose" if they plan on relating to the WWE Universe on a large scale.
