John CenaJohn Cena Wins The Royal Rumble Match

What I Liked:

First off, I want to address some of the surprises and entrants in the match. I LOVED Chris Jericho's return because nobody saw it coming. Coming in second showed you that he has the endurance and the ability to go longer than most guys. That is a credit to his ability and lack of ring rust. When the crowd chanted "you still got it" he came back by saying that he never lost it. That is something you cannot teach, the quick intelligence and instinct to connect with the crowd. Jericho and Ziggler did a great job in the beginning and set the pace for a fun match. Cody Rhodes came in third, and then we had Goldust a few men later. This was a great moment for Cody and for the IWC, seeing these two brothers go at it. It gave Cody much heat when he needed it. Rey Mysterio returned, but did not do much. I was happy about that because he does not need a lengthy run in this type of match, especially in the shape that he is in. The final men in the ring ended up being Sheamus, Ryback, and John Cena. When Sheamus was eliminated, it was up to Cena and Ryback. Although I did not hate this, you just knew at this point Cena was going to win. Ryback is not ready for a WWE Championship match. Cena eliminates Ryback by tossing him over very sloppy. Nonetheless, this is a great business decision. Cena had a horrible 2012, where he lost to many guys. If you always complain about Cena winning, then stop reading. He is their biggest money maker, and Wrestlemania is all about the money. I can easily understand this move, and feel like it was the right decision. (This was not my personal choice, but it makes sense, is logical, and is what they should do for a big stage like Wrestlemania looming.)

What I Disliked:

The final few entrants were The Miz, Jinder Mahal, and Ryback. I really wish that 3MB was not in the match and replaced by some surprises. With the rumors of Shelton Benjamin and Carlito returning, that would have spiced up a match. I really did not like Bo Dallas in the match either. He was outshined by what Kofi Kingston was trying to do, basically surf his way back into the ring on a chair. He lasted quite some time, but eliminated Wade Barrett. This kid is a great wrestler, but the logic of a feud with him and Barrett does NOTHING for me. If anything, he would be much better paired with another young guy and chase a tag title. He is nowhere near the level of Barrett in size, experience, and has not earned it. I also felt the match was really entertaining, but Ziggler should have lasted to the very end. His elimination thanks to Sheamus is typical booking of him. It always seems that he cannot consistently get the better of someone. Bryan and Kane's eliminations would have made better sense if they lost the tag titles. Besides these little details, I was happy with the overall booking.
