What’s Bothering Me: Injuries, Departures & Time Off

Tyson KiddTyson Kidd Injured – Out For 6-8 Months

Sure, Tyson Kidd might not be missed by the majority of the wrestling audience, but it's tough, nonetheless. He's continuing to earn respect from those "in the business" and that's the first step. I think he was due a decent push before this setback.

Let's see where the tag division is when Kidd returns later this year. I think his run with Justin Gabriel was a great fit for both men and wouldn't mind that being revisited if Gabriel isn't doing anything solo by then.

Santino Suffers Neck Injury – Taken Off Road

Much like Kidd, Santino isn't an A-list guy, but he's still a fun performer to watch. I've been impressed with Santino's career since he debuted as a face and defeated Umaga for the IC Championship. I didn't expect him to last long then, yet here we are nearly six years later and he's a fan favorite with no end in sight.

I honestly don't think we've seen the best of Santino either. Right now, he's a fun, funny bit player with very little need for serious storylines or title runs. That could all change though if WWE wanted to do more with him. He can remain a comedic act to an extent, especially on the mic, but allow him to take a much more serious approach to his matches. Another run with the IC or US titles would be the furthest I see him going, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Here's to hoping the neck injury isn't serious and Santino can return soon.

NOTE: Thanks to those who pointed out the error regarding Santino debuting as a heel. My mistake and it's now corrected.
