Stars in Progress: Cena’s Injury, TNA Announcers, Hogan

Brooke HoganBrooke Hogan + Bully Ray – One Step Down

The finale to Impact Wrestling on Thursday was awkward and silly. The idea of Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan having a "thing" is so unbelievably far-fetched, it's really not even funny. TNA's consistency of late is likely about to be thrown right out the window with this storyline.

Bully Ray is arguably the best heel in the company, yet I didn't hate the reason behind him turning face. Fans accepted it and we moved on. However, all the progress they've made with him in the past year is about to come to a screeching halt with this outragious angle.

I'm not going to say this has anything to do with WWE copying TNA in recent months or not; I honestly have no idea. I hope TNA's not wasting time, resources and energy just to one-up WWE, but then again, it wouldn't surprise me. This angle looks and feels much different than the recent stuff between Vickie, Cena, AJ, and Ziggler. but there are enough parallels to certainly question the motive behind it.

I haven't hated Brooke's contributions to TNA since her debut, but this angle just feels like a disaster waiting to happen. And it won't just affect Brooke Hogan – it will also reflect poorly on her dad, Bully Ray, and the former World Champion, Austin Aries. The fans, of course, will be the ones that suffer the most.
