Vince McMahon ReturnVince McMahon Return – One Step Up

My quote from last week's "Cashbox" column:

"In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Vince entered another panic mode very soon. He's been known to do that in the past when ratings dip too low. It just "feels" like it might be that time again."

Lo and behold, here he comes to save the day!

Vince McMahon has no reason to return to television right now. In fact, the most recent report suggested they'd be dropping the angle about the GM positions being in jeopardy. That was until the lowest rating in over a year happened. It might as well be lowest in forever.

Raw ratings have been on a steady decline ever since going to three hours. Pro wrestling across the board isn't drawing very well right now. Blame can be placed anywhere you want, but it doesn't change the facts.

Vince's appearance tells me that I'm not too far off with that statement above from last week. Punk and Heyman have been too good for ratings to be this low. Ryback was a huge swerve, yet ratings STILL decreased the following week. Something's gotta give.

All of that said, I'm not going to be holding my breath tomorrow night. Honestly, I'm not even sure what Vince can do anymore that would make any significant impact in ratings. I certainly don't think his appearance alone will do it.

As always, I'll be live on VOW Reaction, immediately following Raw, to analyze it all. Visit the all-new VOW Network website for details.
