Mt. Killamanjaro: TNA No Surrender Review – Good Wrestling, Great Story-telling and a Message to the Haters

Mt. Killamanjaro — @MikeKillam

TNA No Surrender has brought out a lot of mixed emotions from the wrestling community. Some loved the direction TNA took last night; others absolutely hated it. There’s so much to talk about, and near the end I will address those of you who simply can’t find good in a product that exists wholly to entertain you, but for right now let’s get down into the action with our first match of No Surrender…

Bound for Glory Semi-Finals

Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe

The “Charismatic Enigma” picked up the win here via roll-up in a pretty standard match. I like that neither guy could get his finisher off; it’s a small detail, but it should keep the finale feeling less repetitive. I’d almost feel bad for Samoa Joe, losing two matches to Hardy this week, but you had to know he wasn’t going to advance to Bound for Glory. I was actually expecting Magnus to get involved here, playing off their back-burner feud and setting up a match for next month. Clean win; Hardy advances in a match that isn’t great, but gets the job done. I’m afraid there’s not a whole lot more to add…
