Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Rise and Falls From 2011
10. Alex Riley- Fall
Alex Riley was at a point in his career where he beat the former WWE Champion, a guy who pinned John Cena at Wrestlemania 27 only three months later. When Alex Riley attacked The Miz, this seemed to be a huge point in his career, and a new guy to throw at the top of each card. Alex Riley has all of the tools, including a great look and an aggressive mean streak. Many compared Riley to a younger version of Batista, but more athletic. He was ripped, strong, and was being groomed by some of the best. After Capitol Punishment in Washington, D.C., Riley would go on for a month or two before becoming irrelavant. What happened to Riley at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. We have yet to see him really do anything positive since that PPV. His career has fallen so quickly and without much reasoning. He did not fail a drug test, has not had a serious injury, but has fallen fast in the minds of the WWE Universe. Hell, Riley was not even involved in Mania’s PPV card. That was a shock to me.
