Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 8-20-12

AJ is backstage and is interrupted by David Otunga. He puts over his movie and offers his services to her. She puts him in a match for tonight. She also says she is thinking about letting CM Punk pick his next opponent.

Ryback defeats Two Jobbers

What I Liked:

The crowd is certainly into the Ryback character. This is the third consecutive week that the crowd chants with him and really gets behind him. Jinder Mahal attacks Ryback for the DQ, so the ending was different than usual.

What I Disliked:

Is this feud going anywhere? Mahal continues to "try" and attack Ryback, but he ends up escaping without harm. This is a feud that has little to no steam, and nobody cares about Mahal. He cannot be real competition for Ryback. This needs to end quickly so Ryback can be utilized in a much more exciting and marketable capacity. He will not gain more fans with a feud like this.

Grade: C

-Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho in a WWE Contract vs. Money in the Bank contract is set by GM AJ Lee.

Alberto Del RioRandy Orton defeats Alberto Del Rio

What I Liked:

Before the match, Del Rio complains about the referee's decision at Summerslam, and demands a rematch. AJ Lee comes out and says she has no authority of the World Heavyweight Championship, but she can book him in a match for right now. Randy Orton comes out, and we get a pretty entertaining match. Orton's return, no matter how his character is, is important in the long run. He still gets a great ovation. I thought Orton looked really good against Del Rio tonight for a few reasons. This is a match where he can test his limits and test the moves that he has been so good at perfecting. Del Rio takes Orton to the limit with continued kicks to the Viper. Del Rio also hits another excellent kick to his head, something we saw a night ago. Sheamus is at ringside for the match, and they focus on their feud more than Orton. Orton hits a hanging DDT from the second turnbuckle rope. They tweaked it a little bit, and I enjoyed seeing Del Rio take it like a champ. The end was smart, to have Sheamus tell the referee about Orton's leg on the rope when getting pinned. Del Rio flips out, and an RKO ends his night. This was a really smart and logical way to get a victory for Orton and immediately put himself back into the main event picture. i do not see a Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions, but potentially a Fatal Four Way. There needs to be a fourth guy chasing Sheamus, preferably a heel. But who?

What I Disliked:

How long does Alberto Del Rio need to lose to have fans stop caring? Wait, fans still really do not care too much about him. He is a great talent, but is STILL not fully getting over. He needs to change his approach in the ring, his personality, and really focus on an overall change in how he presents himself. A heel needs to have that one big characteristic, Del Rio does not have one.
