AJ StylesAJ Styles – One Step Up

Don't misunderstand, I'm not rewarding TNA for their pathetic attempt at resolving the secret between Dixie Carter and AJ Styles. They've officially abused the power of live TV and temporarily undone all the progress they've made in recent months with the final 10-minute segment from Thursday's edition of Impact Wrestling.

Bobby Roode's continued momentum is irrelevant now. James Storms' strong return is obsolete. The Bound for Glory series is non-existent for the time being. Austin Aries' deserved push is now put on hold.

Our lasting impression of Impact Wrestling at this point in time, right now, is that of a pregnant drug addict, offensive acting and a cringe-worthy storyline that will do zero to draw ratings, elevate any talent involved or sell pay-per-views.  And last I checked, those three factors were still an important part of TNA's business model.

"Why the step up then, Chris?"

Because it's finally over!

AJ Styles can get hopefully get out of this mess and on to something better. There's nowhere to go but up when you are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The best way to put failure behind you is to first acknowledge you failed, understand there's no point putting more effort into it, regroup and re-focus, then move on. In this case, the quicker the better, for everyone involved.
