Impact WrestlingTNA X Division Championship: Austin Aries def. Chris Sabin and Zema Ion (Ultimate X Match)

What I Liked:

What an excellent match to start off Impact. Chris Sabin kicked things off with an incredible Tornado DDT and really picked up the pace of the match. All of these guys were able to execute and connect with their moves. Ultimate X is a very unique match, and I loved seeing it here tonight because it has not be overused yet. It is not like a Cage or Ladder Match because there are only few guys who could pull this off. Austin Aries shined once again, and connected with a Suicide Dive which connected onto Sabin. I really felt all of the guys did their part in this match, as Ion was a guy thrown in because he can sell every move, Sabin is the veteran fan favorite who has been here before, and Aries is quite simply the best in the company inside the ring. This was tremendous in all aspects, and shows you that they are different than WWE in many ways, and many of those ways are positives. Athleticism, execution, and creativity are the reasons why this was unbelievable. Also, after the match, Aries talks about being the best and wanting to Main Event. Hogan comes out and tells him that he will face Roode if he drops the X Division Championship, and has one week to decide. What a great and different way to throw him into the main event without looking weak from a loss.

TNA Television Championship: Devon def. Hernandez

What I Liked:

When you look at the size and stature at both guys, they are incredibly similar. Their strengths are shoulder blocks, suplexes, and powerful tactics to win. Neither of these guys rely on speed, so this match was more of a fight than a wrestling match. The one big athletic move was when Hernandez dived and connected to Devon.

What I Disliked:

There was no story inside of the ring. The match seemed just to rush along from one move to the other, with no real struggle between the guys. It felt like they were going through the motions over creating a story inside the ring. Hernandez slipped up a little on the top rope, and Devon really did not do many offensive moves to win. It just seemed a bit off all around.
