What’s Bothering Me: WWE Draft, TNA Signing Mo, Goldust

#2. TNA Signing MMA Stars

And celebrities. And other sports athletes. And reality stars. And anyone they can possibly think of that shows the least bit of interest in pro wrestling.

I guess you could praise TNA for their continuous efforts, and I often do, but rarely do these signings amount to much of anything. They never get the Mayweather/Big Show payoff.

They are more of a distraction than they’re worth most of the time.

WWE uses celebrities a lot more than TNA, but they at least have a consistent theme to use in the “Raw Guest Host” gimmick. Bring them in for a night, give them a couple of backstage segments, maybe one in-ring bit, let them plug their crap and then send them on their way.

Give TNA credit for always thinking outside of the box, trying new things, and keeping their product fresh. But eventually, you need to put the spaghetti strings down and just get back to basics.
