Some Great Scott Steiner Stories

Scott had insulted DDMe’s wife (C word) before Nitro. So, near show’s end, DDMe tried to exact revenge by sucker-punching Scott backstage. DDMe counted on A) landing one good shot and B) other wrestlers breaking up the fight before Scott could hurt DDMe too badly.

Problem was, DDMe’s punch wasn’t so good. And nobody wanted to break up the fight because everybody wanted to see DDMe get his ass kicked. Nobody stepped in until it became apparent that Steiner was intent on plucking out DDMe’s eye. Cooler heads prevailed, but barely.

Another time, Scott went to the ring during Nitro and cut a BRUTAL promo on Flair: “You belong where you’re at, in WCW, ‘cause WCW sucks!” Scott called Ric an “ass-kissing, backstabbing, butt-sucking bastard.” Totally unscripted. The TV time wasn’t even allotted to Steiner. He just went out there. Nobody stopped him because everybody was scared to death of him.

The night Scott pounded DDMe was the same night I refused to shake DDMe’s hand backstage. I got fired. Steiner didn’t. That’s OK. Both events combined to make the night a good memory as far as I’m concerned.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
