Mt. Killamanjaro: WWE WrestleMania 28 Preview Special

Mt. Killamanjaro Presents:

WWE WrestleMania 28 Preview Special

@MikeKillam — Mike.Killam@wrestlezone.com

Tonight is the big night. It’s the most important night of the year, after the most important week of the year for both wrestling fans and Superstars alike. The go-home shows are over, the match card is final, the WWE.com exclusive pre-show bout has been advertised, the pyro’s been tested, and now all we’re waiting for is the clock to strike 7/6c. It’s WrestleMania 28, on the “biggest stage of them all” in Miami, Florida. Tonight is Once in a Lifetime. Tonight is the End of an Era. Tonight we figure out who truly is the Best in the World, and by the end of tonight I’m confident we’ll have seen one of the greatest events in wrestling history.

But it’s more than the big names, returning Icons, and retiring legends. Tonight is the payoff on years worth of midcard build – eras are ending, but the next generation is ready (and not waiting) to step up to the plate. Rock and Cena will clash in a battle of the ages, meanwhile CM Punk has ascended the midcard, captured the WWE Championship and will defend his very real title of “best in the world”. Same goes for Daniel Bryan, although his feud with Sheamus is noticeably on the back-burner. Cody Rhodes will once again have a singles match at WrestleMania, and the 12-man tag is full of mid-card talents and former Champions on the verge of taking over the wrestling industry. This year’s ‘Mania may contain the clashing of veterans, but it is equal parts the platform for the next generation.

I could ramble on about how vital and significant the “Road” to this year’s event has been, and how crucial it is that tonight payoff huge for both the WWE and its fans… Instead I’ll conclude this introduction with a simple statement: welcome to WrestleMania.

What’s “Special” About our WrestleMania Special?

This year for my WrestleMania PPV Preview I enlisted the help of  a few special guests. Former Wrestlezone writer, comedian, and independent wrestling personality Ken Napzok will be weighing in with his thoughts, and my good personal friend Ace Waters will be offering a unique perspective on tonight’s event. Ace is a brand new wrestling fan (whether he chooses to admit it or not), and over this year’s Road to WrestleMania I’ve been walking him through each episode of Raw and every WWE PPV, getting his thoughts along the way. What he lacks in wrestling experience and knowledge, he makes up for in having a clean, non-jaded perspective on our wacky industry. How long has it been since any of us have seen wrestling through fresh eyes and no unrealistic sense of entitlement?

So what are we waiting for? Let’s get to the card!
