Santino Wins US Championship
One Step Up
WWE did it right this time.
They took a guy that was extremely over and rewarded him and the fans by strapping him with the United States Championship. It was a smart move. It was a LOGICAL move. No offense to Swagger — and I’m a fan actually — but his title run was useless and going nowhere. Santino will get the proper treatment as champ.
At least, he should.
I’ll be interested to see what direction they take with Santino. I don’t expect Swagger to be kept in the mix for any long period of time. Will WWE give Santino credible challengers and serious programs? Or will he be tossed a lot of meaningless matches for a while?
I know which one I believe is the better option.
