Off The Air: WrestleMania 28 As Booked By…

The RockOut of the 97 responses I received, I chose this one, from Ivan Barrer to print this week.  His booking is logical and I could see myself ordering WrestleMania 28 if it was booked this way.  Over the next several weeks, leading into Mania, I will print parts of other responses.  Everyone that sent something had really great ideas and it leads me to believe that the WWE would benefit from having a revolving door of "guest-bookers."

John Cena vs. The Rock

It's been announced a year ago, and unless either one falls victim to a major injury, it will go on.

WWE Championship: CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho

The best in the world goes up against, well, the best in the world at what he does. I don't see Jericho winning the Royal Rumble, though. I see him perhaps winning the Elimination Chamber match to earn an opportunity against Punk, or in a singles match against Dolph Ziggler to earn that spot. Nonetheless, this is what I see happening.

The Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal

Placing the Big Show in a match against an outsider is good, he's proven before that it worked for him. I don't know how the build up is going to be set up, but I'm excited to see it.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

I don't know how they're going to do this a third time, but it seems that they're pretty intent on this match. The build up, probably along the same lines as last year. But maybe bring Kane into the mix and tell Triple H he'll never do it. Kane will mention he's failed twice, and Triple H has too. I would love a career vs career match between HHH and Kane, personally.

Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus

Wade and Sheamus could have a controversial finish at the Rumble. Or, either one wins, and the other placed in the Elimination Chamber and comes close to winning. A mix up between the three of these guys would exemplify the talent in the future of the WWE, assuming they let it happen. I could see Orton placed into this but he's better off in a singles program.

Randy Orton vs. Kane

Orton has always been great at putting people over, and at times, Kane has, too. With Cena occupied at WrestleMania, let Kane go after the next top guy. You could bill it as a SD vs Raw match, but an intense grudge match would be better.

No Holds Barred Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Mick Foley

The idea has been around since the two exchanged a few words on Raw. I have no problem, unlike many others, with this match taking place because its better fitted for Ziggler as opposed to being placed in the Money in the Bank ladder match. One thing, do NOT let Swagger or Vickie accompany him to the ring. He doesn't need Vickie anymore. I'm hoping by February he goes on his own, for his own good.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth vs. The Miz vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Hunico vs. Ted DiBiase

I thought of 8 talented young talent not involved in a major angle at the big event and placed them in a ladder match, under the assumption that the WWE decides to bring it back to WrestleMania. I thought about a bigger angle for the 4 guys from Raw, but there wasn't enough room this year in my fantasy booking.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust

If Goldust loses, it will be his final WWE match. Brother vs brother feuds generally do well. The slow build this one seems to have has a good pace. Booking is critical, however, to keep this relevant and fresh in our minds. Plus, I'd rather see this match at WrestleMania than Elimination Chamber. Otherwise, what would Rhodes do?

WWE Diva's Championship

Who knows who will be the champion. I haven't seen Beth Phoenix in the longest time. Quite frankly, I would do away with the entire Diva's division, but for the sake of having them on the card, I have this.

Unused talent:

– Camacho will likely accompany Hunico in his ladder match and probably be knocked out by a face

– Jack Swagger will interfere in the Foley/Ziggler match

– Brodus Clay wins a dark match battle royal

– Hornswoggle stays out of the entire thing. PLEASE.

– Santoshi…ehhhh

I would like to add a tag title and US title match to the line-up, but this in itself is a solid card.
