Wrestlezone Presents: The Depth Chart (January Edition)

7. Daniel Bryan – WWE (#8)

                       Fan Vote: Kane

A slight boost up the ladder for the World Heavyweight Champion this month, as he retains his new title, refines his subtle heel change, and continues to impress all-around. I still have some serious concerned with him as the champion going into WrestleMania, and was very surprised to see him retain the belt at the Rumble last night, but Bryan has surprised us in the past with his quality of work. Hopefully he can continue to do so…

6. Bully Ray – TNA (n/a)

   Fan Vote: Cody Rhodes

Ken Napzok: Robert Roode is earning his keep and place at the top of TNA as the bombastically wimpy champ. That's a fact, but you cannot overlook that the foundation of Roode's current championship reign is being heavily supported by Bully Ray's enforcer role. Want to see how it doesn't work? See 2011 and The Miz/ Alex Riley title reign. Ray's career resurrection continues to impress. He is a natural as the brute behind the champ's brashness.

5. Robert Roode – TNA (#5)

        Fan Vote: Chris Jericho

TNA's World Heavyweight Champion maintains his spot after another month of doing pretty much the exact same thing. Had it not been for Cody Rhodes' rather lackluster month, and the slew of new people that made the list, Roode probably would have fallen. He's good in his role, but I see very little evolution between PPVs for his character, and I'm getting pretty tired of watching main events just to see how he's going to cheat his opponent out of a victory. Besides, why bother buying a PPV when TNA will more than likely give you the match for free on TV that week anyways, complete with screwy finish!

Editor's Note: Shame on you people! Chris Jericho is up there in my favorite wrestlers of all time, but I'd never vote him to the top of the Depth Chart purely because I like him! Yeah, he's back and I'm sure things will get interesting tonight on Raw, but really? #5 after a loss in the Rumble, and a dozen words spoken on last week's Raw? Don't boo me, you should be booing yourselves!

4. Cody Rhodes – WWE (#3)

          Fan Vote: Daniel Bryan

I love Cody Rhodes as the Intercontinental Champion, but so far 2012 hasn't been his year. He still has the belt, he's still in our Top 5, but he just hasn't had a very clear direction. Late in 2011 he was going head-to-head with guys like Randy Orton and Sheamus – now he's picking the remains of Justin Gabriel while creative flirts with the idea of a Goldust feud. Hopefully Rhodes bounces back and does something awesome as we build towards WrestleMania, and personally…I'd really like to see him hold that belt until the end of the year, dethroning the Honkey Tonk Man's ridiculous placement on top of the mountain.
