Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 1-9-12

WWE RawOpening Segment:

Kane starts off Raw talking about Hate and John Cena. He talks about the fans not getting what they want, but he always does. He goes on to talk about dragging Zack to hell, but John Cena comes out and they begin to brawl. They fight outside the ring, to the outside, and in the outside area of the arena. Cena and Kane exchange blows, and Cena almost throws Kane off the loading dock. Kane hits Cena, and then is immediately gone. Cena looks around

What I Liked:

A different way to start off the show, but I liked it. This is the angle where everyone is wondering where it will go next. Kane speaking is not something I like, but in a feud with Cena, he has to be heard about his intentions. I loved the feeling of the brawl to the outside, the actual realistic effect shown by both guys. When Kane disappeared, it kept the suspense up for us to want to see him later tonight.

What I Disliked:

Not many flaws here. The booking made sense, the ending was fitting, but I wish Cena would have been the guy down or the guy disappeared. You need to flip the switch a little bit, make Cena the hunter at times and not the hunted.

Grade: A

Sheamus and Santino Marella def. Wade Barrett and Jinder Mahal:

What I Liked:

Decent tag team wrestling early from Barrett and Mahal. They used quick and effective tags to isolate Santino. Wade has the complete package, whether you want to believe it or not. Sheamus seemingly is stuck with two feuds, which is better than none. They are building three of these guys for the Royal Rumble match, two could potentially win. I really feel Sheamus' boot is the best in the business, as he is physical and spot on each time..

What I Disliked:

I wish we had more of Sheamus and Jinder, since both are facing off on Smackdown this week. I really feel that Santino(still a joke wrestler) getting the victory over Jinder devalues what they are apparently trying to do with him. I wish this match had a little more time to build, with more than a few quick moves and a pinfall from Santino. If you want to build some younger talent heading into the big PPV, make sure they are given more than 5 minutes of live TV time.

Grade: C+
