Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 1-9-12

Josh Isenberg

The Miz is backstage asking for protection from R Truth. Laurinitis says he has more to worry about, including being the special guest referee at Rumble, and the debut of Brodus Clay. He tells Miz to find his own protection, as Otunga nods in approval.

Zack Ryder is talking to Eve and is on the phone with his dad talking about Kane's attacks a week ago. He says he is okay, but the segment ends with Kane looking at Ryder from behind.

Daniel Bryan def. Kofi Kingston:

What I Liked:

The continued, yet slow transition of Bryan turning heel. He does the handshake to kind of fool us in the beginning. I really thought this match was going to go a lot  longer than it did,  as I felt both guys could work well together given some similarities. Bryan and Show post match foreshadowed to us what will happen on Smackdown. Bryan will not drop the title, but having the no DQ, no countout makes us wonder and want to tune in.

What I Disliked:

A basic squash match for Kofi, as I feel the tag titles are irrelavent right now. He has not gotten a solid win in single's or as a tag team in quite some time. I realize that Bryan is the champion, but I also feel like he has not gotten a solid victory. Let Bryan overcome, let him sell moves, and this will make his underdog role a lot more effective, just like they did with Mysterio.
