The Cashbox: Top 10 Wrestlers in the Business Right Now

Only got a few emails trying to argue my opinion that Randy Orton is "one of the best in the business today" – none worth mentioning either.  I will sum them all up by posting the following first line of one email I did receive:

"Randy Orton is too small…"

Enough said.

Nick Paglino and I discussed the Orton issue on this week's edition of the Voice of Wrestling and took some input from listeners via the chatroom and live call-in's.  I asked our listeners what WWE wrestlers they would rank in the "Top 5" today, and while half of them had Orton in that list, the others did not.  I found it interesting to see how vastly different IWC fans' opinions are from one another.  I think I saw Santino Marella in one of those lists ,seriously.

Our own Mike Killam will be introducing a new feature next month on WrestleZone that will rank the top ten wrestlers (WWE/TNA) every week.  I believe fan votes will determine each list.  In a promotional cross-over for that upcoming feature, I decided to rank MY top ten, current wrestlers in this week's "Cashbox".  This list will rank the ten WWE or TNA wrestlers that I feel are the all-around best today, dating back to TNA's Bound For Glory (that gives both companies a PPV and at least one weekly show).

My criteria: Current Storyline/Gimmick Value, Win/Loss Record, Mic Work, and General Entertainment Value – all for the given timeframe.

What are your top ten?  Email those to me at wzchriscash@yahoo.com, tweet them to me @RealityofChris, or leave them in the comment box below.

#10.  Kurt Angle

He had a good showing at Bound For Glory pay per view, despite a crappy finish – and winning the main event of TNA's biggest pay per view of the year should be enough to get you on the list, right?  In all seriousness, Angle has been excellent recently.  Putting over Fortune and specifically, Bobby Roode, for weeks leading up to BFG and then dropping the World Heavyweight Championship to James Storm the following week.  Angle has done quite a bit lately.
