The Cashbox: 5 Reasons Why Raw Disappointed This Week

No rhyme, no reason – Vince simply returned to relay a message to Hunter. I'm all for HHH being removed from his COO position, but there were countless other people to use as the messenger.  Why waste the return of such a compelling character?  A character that has a lot more relevance and association to the whole situation than they featured this past Monday.

The news Vince returned to deliver was a disappointment as well.  Triple H is let go of his COO duties.  Johnny Ace is now the interim General Manager.  They are looking for a permanent G.M. and Vince goes back to…nothing?  The anonymous General Manager is kaput too, I guess.

The Vince McMahon vs. Steve Austin era proved that an effective authority figure in professional wrestling works.  Effectiveness can be achieved when people "believe" that the one in charge actually has power.  Triple H never had a chance as COO because NO ONE sees him in that role.  Johnny Ace is very powerful, but not to casual fans.  Wrestlers and the IWC are the only ones who really know what it is he does for the company and how close he is with Vince.

Vince should have stayed off television until he had something more substantial to contribute to the product.  His appearance on Monday was useless and counterproductive.
