A British Point of View: I’ll Walk If You Will

After last week’s surreal ending to RAW, we all watched, wondering in what direction WWE would go with this walkout. On one hand WWE quickly addressed some of the main feedback that fired their way, with John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton and CM Punk expressing valid reasons for not participating last week. Whilst, Booker T explained on SmackDown that he needed the bathroom at the time of the walkout and had no idea what was going on, nothing new there then!

This week’s RAW took a whole of 25 minutes to even get into a wrestling match. Then, we had a 4 minute match which was cut short by Vince McMahon making a less than triumphant return to RAW. All to explain to Triple H that he had been removed as the Manager of RAW (but not the COO as according to King later in the night) and replaced by Mr. Laryngitis (think about it.)

As this was announced, all the staff in the parking lot returned to work and entered the building. However, John Morrison opened his mouth by saying this was worse than Triple H being in charge. If so, why didn’t he just stay in the parking lot?

Then we witnessed a RAW which seemed more out of control compared with anything we have seen in the last few weeks. We had run-ins and we had the main event interrupted and changed mid-match.

Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk was a match made instantly by Mr. Laryngitis according to Michael Cole on commentary, only for him to come out during the contest and change it!? Why didn’t they just announce the tag team match earlier?

We also had JR fired! Something that many people won’t find shocking but what was his reasons? He said it was because he walked out! So you fire somebody because his actions got you the job in the first place!? If they wanted it to make sense all they had to say is that Triple H hired you back a few weeks ago and thought that this was a mistake. Easy heat, but unfortunately they go in a direction which makes most fans scratch their heads. What made it even worse was the fact that JR nodded his head in agreement when accused of walking out on the WWE Universe. There were no attempts to explain his actions on camera and ultimately he acted more like a heel than a face commentator.

Then we had Michael Cole nominate himself for Dickhead of the year by overplaying the celebrations of JR’s firing. If the scenario was believable then Jerry Lawler would have decked him on the spot or refused to even acknowledge him at ringside for the rest of the night. But no, in true Jerry Lawler style he was sat chin-wagging at ringside whilst his apparent best friend was just fired in front of the world.
